I think that it should start later because some children have sports in the afternoon and the night and they don't get home until about 9:00pm and then they have to make their lunch, have a shower and do their teeth and that means they won't get to bed until around 10:00pm. If school were to start later they would be able to have a sleep in and be more focused in class being that they had enough sleep.

I personally think that 8:30 is about a reasonable time as we get up early which is hard but good for us and get ourselves ready.

I think we shouldn't. Any early would be a bit too far because studies show that children need their sleep to learn properly. Then again if it started any later sports practices etc would be too late to finish and it would be inconvenient. Therefore I think the time is good.

I think that we should because we should have a bigger sleep in. And because people can get really stressed because they have to rush off to school in the morning. And if you dont have a good breakfast they you will be really hungry and it is bad for your brain because it slows down you body to work for school work.

I think that school starts at a very reasonable time. Having to get up for school in the morning is a good learning curve for children as it will give them practice for when they need to go to work, which may start even earlier. Studies show that a good education is very important as it makes the world a more peaceful and better place. If the start of school was pushed forward, children will lose important learning time which might affect them later in life and it may even grow to the extent that the world becomes less peaceful. It's for these reasons that I believe school starts at a reasonable time.

It would be better if school didn't start later in the morning because research shows that teenagers should go to be later and wake up earlier in the morning. Research in the 1990s found that later sleep and wake patterns among adolescents are biologically determined; the natural tendency for teenagers is to stay up late at night and wake up later in the morning. This is why I think that school shouldn't start late and plus I think that when we are older we might have to wake up in the morning early for work so it is good to get used to it now. Very good points

Good point, but I think it would be good for in primary but in intermediate and college we should learn to get up early because your work may start a lot earlier.

I think that I would be better because kids need to have fun and our not going to be a kid for very long so you need to enjoy yourself. Not that school isn't enjoyable it's just that most people like to have a bit of a sleep in. Especially if you have a lazy brother like mine.

As much as I would LOVE a sleep in every morning, no because of these reasons.
one, because breakfast is the best meal of the day and gets you focused so going straight after breakfast is good
Secondly it shortens your afternoon. If our school started at 9:30am, we would leave at 4:00 get home, do stuff for an hour then have dinner. That would suck.

Is disagree with this,
I think that having school at 8:30 is a good time. I think this because it means you don't have to get up to early and with having after school activities it means you can still get home in time for a good night sleep. Also to add to having a good night sleep, if a child does not get enough than more than 9 hours of sleep it affects your learning ability because your brain has not had the right amount of rest. Plus if you have less than 6 hours of sleep it can cause early signs of having a heart attack.

I think 8:30 is a good time for school. I understand that a lot of kids have to catch the bus early in the morning, it may be a big pain for them to get organised so early but this will help in future life. If children feel too tired a school then they need to go to bed earlier, we are at intermediate and it is our responsibility to organise ourselves to do these things.

I am on the fence with this because it it good to have the time we have now but if we move the start time forward we would have to finish school later.Science shows that teenagers need at least 8 1/2 hours of sleep to 9 1/2 hours of sleep. But to do this they can just go to bed earlier.
